Between Bucharest and Paris - the double geography of the work of B. Fundoianu/B. Fondane
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main aim of the article is to present the profile of the Romanian poet, essayist, and existential thinker B. Fundoianu/B. Fondane in the context of his relationship with French literature. The key concept here is the notion of “world literature” as understood by Pascale Casanova, who sees the literary universe as a certain territory in which there has been an unequal distribution of literary resources, making peripheral literary spaces subject to a domination process. The article presents the different stages of Fundoianu’s/Fondane’s oeuvre, showing how the author fought for his literary freedom before and after arriving in Paris from Bucharest.
